John D. Shuck has been the Board Chair for Riseboro Community Partners since [2016].
Mr. Shuck has recently worked as a partner-level consultant with several firms that specialize in assisting top management of large financial services companies, particularly those in the insurance industry. Mr. Shuck’s work at these firms has focused on advising senior executives regarding market and competitive assessment, strategy development, operations/cost management, and risk management. Additionally, Mr. Shuck has been part of a team that has successfully launched two cybersecurity advisory companies.
Earlier in Mr. Shuck’s career, he held a series of senior executive positions at Zurich Insurance Group including Managing Director of Zurich Centre Group, head of a joint venture between Zurich Insurance Group and Provident Insurance Companies (now Unum), CEO of Zurich Payroll Solutions, and Chief Administrative Officer of Zurich Reinsurance Centre. Prior to joining the Zurich Group, Mr. Shuck was a principal at McKinsey & Company, where he was a leader in the insurance and banking practices in New York and Scandinavia.
Mr. Shuck has previously been a board member of AFS-USA, part of AFS International, the world’s largest non-profit high school student exchange program. He has also twice been head of the board of his local church.
Mr. Shuck has MBA and JD degrees from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from Amherst College.
