Meals on Wheels is more than a meal— the Home delivered Program at Riseboro Community Partnership has been serving the community for several decades. It’s a commitment to the community’s most vulnerable members, providing a nutritious and tasty meals, along with high quality customer service and a social connection. Each delivery is an opportunity to offer a friendly visit and a wellness check, reducing isolation and enhancing the well-being of older adults. Hot meals are prepared and delivered for 5 days per week and a chilled meal is delivered for Saturday and Sunday. For clients that want an option of having frozen meals delivered so they can go to appointments like dialysis we deliver 7 frozen meals as per their requested delivery days.

Our mission is designed for the program to serve vulnerable older adults who are homebound and frail. Individuals who are unable to prepare their own meal and those in need of temporary relief following hospitalization or rehabilitation. By delivering healthy, balanced meals, we help older adults maintain their independence, and dignity.

The funders for the Home Delivered Meals program are NYC Department of the Aging and City Meals on Wheels. NYC Aging is our main funder that provides our weekday meals, Monday through Friday as well as the holiday meals.

All meals are designed to meet dietary needs, that are approved by a nutritionist from NYC Aging. Each meal is provided with an entrée and two side dishes, as well as a serving of 1% or skim milk and juice or fruit. Each meal contains 1/3 of the required daily allowance of protein, calories, fat, vitamins, and other nutrient required. The meals options we serve are Standard Regular, Latin style, Caribbean style, Halal style, that are caterer from Healthy Hearts Food Service and Glatt Kosher meals caterer by Mauzone Kosher Products.

We offer 1 hot meal delivered daily, Monday-Friday, and served double meals Thursday & Friday (one hot & one frozen) to accommodate the weekend.  Another option is Frozen meals, 4 pack delivered on Mondays or Tuesday, and a 3-pack delivered on Wednesdays or Thursdays.
