The RiseBoro Case Management program provides our most socially isolated older adults with a “Friendly Visitor” volunteer that spends at least one hour a week at the older adult’s home providing companionship. The program also offers inter-generational connections for older adults and volunteers and in some instances offers active seniors themselves the opportunity to volunteer.
Our Friendly Visiting staff works to match clients with volunteers so that they develop a bond that rewards each with mutual appreciation and friendship. Our volunteer’s and clients share anecdotes, discuss current events, paint, write, listen to music and play games among other activities.
FOR VOLUNTEERS
Our volunteers are carefully trained and screened before a match is made with a senior.
In addition to the bonds you develop that will enhance your life and those of an older adult, the benefits of volunteering are many and may include:
- Expanding your network and make valuable new connections
- Deepening your community impact and make a difference
- Enhancing your resume and portfolio
- Sharpening your skills
Volunteer as a Friendly Visitor one hour per week (in person or remotely).
Please note Monday through Friday 9am-5pm are office hours. Volunteers can volunteer their time 7 days a week at various hours. Please contact us to learn more.
