Egondu Onuoha has been a member of the Board of Directors for over two years. She brings significant operational leadership from her senior executive work at The Brooklyn Hospital, where she was employed for over two decades.
At Brooklyn Hospital she was the Vice President, Real Estate and special programs at the hospital with administrative oversight of the supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children (WIC) which serves over 20,000 clients monthly from 7 sites in Brooklyn. Prior to her current role, she held the position of Director of the Prenatal Care Assistance Program(PCAP) and WIC program, Administrator of the Nurse Family Partnership(NFP) and Diabetes Program.
Ms. Onuoha is a Registered Dietitian (RD), an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDN); a Grant Professional Certified (GPC) and a fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (FAND).
Through her role at the hospital, Ms. Onuoha has expanded access to services for underserved communities, recruited and cultivated a diverse staff and improved both operational and financial performance through innovation and grants.
Ms. Onuoha is currently on the board of Directors for the Metropolitan NYC WIC Association, is the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Grant Professional Certification Institute (GPCI) and more recently was elected to the Board of Directors as the Director at Large for the world’s largest food and Nutrition organization, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Ms. Onuoha has previously served on several boards including the International Board for Lactation Consultant Examiners and the WIC Association of NYS.
