Breevort Seniors In Their Own Words

Employee Highlight

John Herring

Instructor, Adult Education Literacy

At last month’s ESL Graduation ceremony, John shared how proud he is of RiseBoro’s Adult Education program. To him, it’s a place where people move past their fears and make space to grow. “It’s more than just learning,” he said. “For me, it’s about making friends and finding family in this incredible community.” He sees the program as a journey toward confidence, where small steps slowly build into something bigger, opening up new possibilities and helping students take control of their futures.

In Our Community, For Good

CBS Interview

Thank you to CBS News New York for taking the time to speak with our CEO, Kieran Harrington, about the challenges so many older adults face with digital literacy.

Access to technology and the skills to use it can change lives, and we’re committed to helping our seniors stay connected, confident, and informed in a world that’s always online.

100 Years in the Community

The RiseBoro Team had the honor of celebrating this very special milestone with a member of our community, and Assemblywoman Maritza Dávila presented a special gift in honor of Mrs. Jacinta’s 100th birthday!

We were proud to celebrate this incredible person and her loved ones at 78 Troutman to mark a century of life, love, and legacy.

Bethany Terraces Wins Award

We’re thrilled to share that Bethany Terraces has won the 2025 SEAoNY SEE Award in the New Buildings category.

As NYC’s first steel modular Passive House senior housing development, this project shows what’s possible when sustainability, innovation, and equity come together. Affordable housing can lead, and win.

Thank you to the SEAoNY judges, to the incredible finalists who continue to raise the bar, and to Murray Engineering for proving that Passive House design has a place at the forefront of structural excellence.
