Deanna M. Cruz
Career Coach
I’m lucky to have an amazing team around me, including a supervisor and director who always encourage me to share my story and empower the people I work with. I’m proud of the work we do every day, but what really drives me is being able to connect clients with the full range of services RiseBoro offers. Whether it’s our education programs, the new Community College initiative, or trade skills training through Rising Stars, it’s incredible to watch this organization grow and serve more people in more ways.

Our Community
Puerto Rican Day Parade
Join us on June 8th for the Knickerbocker Avenue Puerto Rican Day Parade, a vibrant celebration of culture, music, and community right in the heart of Bushwick. RiseBoro is proud to sponsor this incredible event that brings neighbors together in the spirit of pride and unity. Don’t miss the music, dancing, and joy as the parade kicks off at 3 PM.

Inaugural Golf Event
Our first-ever RiseBoro Golf Outing was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together. Supporters, staff, and community members came out in full force to raise awareness and build support for New Yorkers in need.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a success; from the planning committee, to the staff, and our generous sponsors who helped bring the event to life. We’re excited to continue growing this tradition of community and care.

Participatory Budgeting
New York City’s participatory budgeting process is your chance to decide how public funds are spent in your community. The projects on the ballot come from New Yorkers just like you—and all residents age 11 and up, regardless of citizenship, are eligible to vote. You can vote for as many projects as you like, but only once, so make it count. Help shape the future of your neighborhood.

Community College For All
RiseBoro is proud to partner with CUNY Kingsborough to make higher education more accessible through our Community College for All initiative. This two-year hybrid program offers in-person and virtual classes, helping students balance their studies with work and family life. With support for financial aid and DREAM Act eligibility, we’re opening doors for more New Yorkers to pursue a college degree and build a brighter future.
