New York State Awards $1.25 Million in Capital Funding to RiseBoro Community Partnership

Funding Will Preserve Brooklyn’s Affordable Housing and Enhance “Roundtable” Older Adult Center

NEW YORKRiseBoro Community Partnership, New York City’s premier affordable housing developer and social services provider, today announced $1.25 million in state capital funding secured by Assemblymember Erik M. Dilan, who represents Brooklyn’s 54th Assembly District. RiseBoro leadership joined Assemblymember Dilan, Roundtable members, and building residents to mark the award and its impact on Bushwick.

The funding includes $1 million for the rehabilitation of affordable housing buildings operated by RiseBoro, and  $250,000 for new furniture and equipment at RiseBoro’s Roundtable Older Adult Center.

“This nomination reflects the strong commitment that RiseBoro Community Partnership has demonstrated through efforts to strengthen our neighborhood’s well-being,” said Assemblyman Erik Martin Dilan. “It is my pleasure to partner with them in their organization’s important work and I look forward to seeing the continued positive impacts RiseBoro makes in our community.”

“Community development is about investing in people and the places they call home,” said Kieran Harrington, Chief Executive Officer of RiseBoro Community Partnership. “These funds will help preserve affordable housing and strengthen services for older adults across Brooklyn. We’re grateful to Assemblymember Dilan for  his long-standing support of RiseBoro and the Bushwick residents we serve.”

The $1 million in housing funds will help RiseBoro repair critical building systems and complete safety upgrades across its portfolio of more than 150 buildings, preserving long-term affordability and improving conditions for residents. The remaining funds will support programming and supportive services for older adults at the Roundtable Older Adult Center, serving a vibrant community of adults aged 60 and above. With a daily attendance of approximately 140 members, the center provides three daily meals and a wide variety of daily activities, including wellness workshops, exercise sessions, and cultural classes.

RiseBoro has now received $15.25 million to preserve affordable housing and advance its supportive services. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and Senator Chuck Schumer have secured $5 million for RiseBoro’s housing preservation efforts, while Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso has allocated $9 million for RiseBoro’s preservation work.
