Farmers Market

Farmers Markets
Join us at the Bushwick Farmers Markets for a wide variety of fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, culinary demos and more. We speak English and Spanish, accept cash, credit, and a wide range of nutrition benefits including SNAP/EBT, Health Bucks, and FMNP Checks (WIC/Seniors). Our markets are diligently committed to connecting Bushwick residents with farmers and producers that reflect the community. Our vendors are majority Latine and people of color, and many of the vendors are residents of the area. Loyal customers return again and again for cooking demonstrations, affordable prices, and culturally-specific products, including heirloom tomatillos, pipiche, alache, and unique varietals of chiles. Our produce farmers are committed to traditional seed-saving practices, and our Mexican family farms have maintained seeds brought from their hometowns in Mexico.

About the Market
The Maria Hernandez market has been in continuous operation since 2012, and part of RiseBoro since 2017. We encourage the use of nutrition benefits, and our markets have high rates of SNAP/EBT redemption. We are dedicated to ensuring that all residents, regardless of income, have access to fresh, healthy, and affordable locally grown food. The Hope Ballfield market launched in 2020, and our Irving Square Market in 2024, and both have been growing ever since. Visit us on Wednesdays at Hope Ballfield, Saturdays at Maria Hernandez Park and Sundays at Irving Square Park and help celebrate 10 years of markets with RiseBoro.
